Wolf Haas wurde 1960 in Maria Alm am Steinernen Meer geboren und veröffentlichte 1996 mit «Auferstehung der Toten» den ersten der sieben Brenner-Krimis. Seine Bücher wurden in mehrere Sprachen übersetzt und unter anderem mit dem Deutschen Krimipreis, dem Burgdorfer Krimipreis, dem Literaturpreis der Stadt Wien und dem Wilhelm-Raabe-Preis ausgezeichnet. Wolf Haas lebt als freier Autor in Wien.
