ERNST JÜNGER

Ernst Jünger (1895 – 1998) was one of Germany’s most controversial and dazzling literary figures. Allegedly a contributor to the assumption of power by the Nazis, Jünger was a combatant in both world wars, a respected conservative author as well as an entomologist and self-confessed drug user. This work is a compact introduction to his multi-faceted oeuvre, and traces his career spanning the epochs of Imperial Germany, the Weimar Republic, the Nazi era and the modern Federal Germany.
