Born in 1986, Nora Gantenbrink studied in Münster and trained at the Henri-Nannen Journalism School. Following an eight-year career as a reporter for Stern in New York, Los Angeles, and Hamburg, she joined Der Spiegel as a culture editor in 2021. Her award-winning reportage is complemented by her debut novel, Dad , which won the Hamburg Prize for Literature.
