When crime writer Rae receives this news, she initially rolls her eyes. Her grandma's friends are certainly exaggerating shamelessly. It's not unusual for her grandmother to go travelling without prior notice. And besides, who would kidnap a harmless old lady like Fenella? Nevertheless, Rae sets off for her home town in the north of Scotland to find out what has happened.
