He fears nothing and no one. Except himself and his past.
A girl has gone missing on the outskirts of Dresden. The only trail goes back two years when a girl from the same neighbourhood disappeared. She turned up again two weeks later. To this day, no-one knows what happened to her. She won’t talk about it.
Detective Felix Bruch is put on the case with his new colleague Nicole Schauer. She quickly realizes that Bruch is different – a loner who doesn’t talk much and is not empathetic. She finds out that he had to deal with the death of his work partner in an accident, but suspects that there is something more to his strange behaviour than grief and shock. Schauer observes him taking medication and experiences what happens when he doesn’t take it on time. Bruch is living on the edge.
The search for the child remains unsuccessful, and Schauer has to accept Bruch’s unusual methods. These push her to her limits, and she increasingly doubts whether she can trust Bruch.
