Starting all over again at 50? Her father’s death is only the first in a sequence of events which catapults Agnes Flügel into a crisis – and then to Portugal. At first everything seemed perfect. Agnes had fulfilled her dream and swapped her business life for her own business producing honey, and had moved to the countryside with her husband. But life had other plans. Agnes’s father dies and she has to take care of her mother who is suffering with dementia. Then her husband leaves her for a younger woman. What do you do when you are suddenly left with nothing? Agnes recalls her old longings and her passion for adventure and makes the snap decision to travel to Lisbon. It’s there, in the city on the River Tejo, that she takes a leap into the unknown.
