Born in 1941, Wolfgang Schmidbauer received his doctorate in psychology from the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, writing his thesis on “Myth and Psychology”. He lives in Munich and in Dießen am Ammersee, has three grown up daughters and has an established practice as a psychoanalyst. As well as a number of non-fiction books, some of which have become bestsellers, he has written stories, novels and other pieces on his childhood and youth experiences. He is also a columnist, writing regularly for academic journals and popular media.
