MORE LIFE THAN EXPECTED

  • When you are at the abyss, attitude is all that matters.
  • Wise and incredibly funny - Veronika Peters’ new novel about three unbeatable women over fifty and a reluctant, but utterly inspiring, new start.

What do you do when you have to start over again in the second half of life?

Alma Grün is approaching sixty and faces ruin - both professionally and personally. She has been left by her partner after over thirty years, has little contact with her two daughters, Lou and Marie, and her career as an author of popular-feminist women's biographies is anything but successful. Lonely and broke, she lives in her much-too-large Berlin apartment and is at a loss for what to do.

Fortunately, there are two wonderful women in Alma’s life who won't abandon her: first, her former cleaner, Bascha, who offers Alma a job at her bed and breakfast. Second, Alma’s literary agent, Jana, who finds Alma a paying subtenant and a research assignment with unexpected consequences.

At an age when others are already thinking about retirement, Alma must completely reinvent herself.
