EVERYONE'S HAVING KIDS, BUT I DOUBT – Answers to a big life question.

  • Do I want kids? Thoughtful answers to a big question in a woman's life.
  •  A conversation with psychotherapists, scientists, and women who have chosen a life without their own children, and with mothers about their doubts.

A book that feels like talking to a good friend.

Do I want to be a mother? This is a question almost every woman faces, including journalist and podcaster Verena Kleinmann. Although she imagined having children, even in her late 30s, she doesn't feel a strong desire for motherhood. As her friends start having children, doubts arise: Will I regret not having kids? Will I be lonelier or less happy? What societal expectations influence my decision?

Verena Kleinmann explores her feelings and uncovers surprising and reassuring answers to one of life's biggest questions. She speaks with women with and without children, as well as psychologists and researchers, about belonging and fulfillment beyond family. An empathetic, insightful, and entertaining book that encourages women to reflect on their emotions and confidently shape their own lives.
