SHADOWS ON THE ELBE

  • An atmospheric Nordic setting: Capturing the raw, unmistakable charm of Hamburg and its harbor docks on both sides of the Elbe river.
  • Authentic grit, profound emotional depth, and high-impact suspense.

Two estranged sisters on opposite sides of the law: Forced to join forces to solve a murder - and save their brother.

They are sisters. They haven’t spoken in years. And they could virtually not be more opposite. There is the impulsive Ela, a tough neighborhood bouncer with occasional ties to the criminal underworld, and Nicole, a rule-bound, meticulous police officer who has always stayed strictly on the right side of the law.

Ela, now in her mid-forties, is the sole caregiver for their brother, Hendrix, who suffers from early-onset Alzheimer’s. One morning after her night shift, a deeply disoriented Hendrix starts rambling about "blood, so much blood" that he claims to have seen in the Harburg harbor during one of his nightly wanderings. Shortly after, a corpse is pulled from the freezing, dark waters of the Elbe River. A sickening suspicion takes root in Ela: Is Hendrix somehow involved?

A dark past tore these sisters apart. Now, they are forced to work together - for the sake of the brother they both love. But in the end, will they prove Hendrix’s innocence, or unearth his guilt? Is he in mortal danger - or is he a murderer?
