TANKRED: Banner and Storm (Vol. V)

  • The popular series featuring the brave and learned Tankred: Power struggles, clashing swords, and history come alive.

The Danes are besieging Paris. Can Tankred save the city and the life of his loyal friend?

Autumn 885: Danish warlord Siegfried has gathered the exiled Danes from Friesland and is ravaging the French coast, heading west. As he sails into the Seine estuary, overrunning fortress after fortress, it becomes clear: he intends to plunder Paris. Count Odo, who is leading the defense, calls on Tankred for help. The experienced fighter and strategist arrives with his Danish lover Alva just in time, before Siegfried can blockade the entrances to the city on the Seine island. As the Danes assault the walls with increasing force and the situation grows more desperate, they discover a traitor within the city walls who intends to hand Paris over to the enemy. Suspicion falls on Alva. Tankred now fights on three fronts: he must repel the Danes, save Alva, and unmask the enemy within their own ranks.
