But in these perilous battles, death does not only lurk at the edge of a sword. His ruthless arch-nemesis, Erkanbald, is threatening Adela - the forbidden love of Berengar's life.

As he fights on all fronts, a secret festers deep within Berengar, one that will irrevocably change everything: he knows whose blood truly runs through his veins. But with this dark truth, absolutely everything is on the line - his position, his honor, and his very life.
