DISTANCE AND PROXIMITY: TALES FROM MY LIFE AS A JOURNALIST

In his new book, Bednarz enlightens his readers about obscure issues, warns about imminent perils and tries reconciling differences, particularly between East and West. This book documents his interactions with politicians like Willy Brandt and Mikhail Gorbachev and writers including Heinrich Böll, Georg Lukacs, Robert Jungk and Andrei Sakharov.
This book represents the best of Bednarz and includes a number of surprising, lesser-known texts. It reflects fifty years of cultural and political history and is a joy to read.
