THE CROW CHAMBER

  • A house in the dunes, a ghost-like coastal village, and the suffocating feeling of being watched.
  • Carolin Frey’s stunning debut introduces a powerful new voice in psychological suspense.
  • Dark, atmospheric and profound - a haunting reading experience that lingers long after the final page.

It feels like coming home. But she is not alone.
Someone is watching, someone is following, someone is there while she sleeps ...

It was supposed to be the safest place on earth. The thatched cottage tucked behind the dunes, where Lotta spent the happiest days of her childhood. She knows exactly where the key is hidden, knows the haunting cry of the crows in the garden. This is where she will hide. Here, she will never be found.

But the seaside village has changed. Once vibrant and teeming with life, it now feels desolate, almost ghost-like. And inside the house, something has shifted. A chilling sensation begins to take hold: Lotta is not alone. Someone is watching. Someone follows her through the dunes. Someone is with her while she sleeps.

As Lotta begins to question her own sanity, the house she thought she knew so well starts to reveal its shadows. Why are the locals so hostile? As she digs deeper, a dark history emerges - a truth long buried within the pages of a forgotten diary.

Then, Lotta learns of the young woman who was there before her. The woman who lived in this very house. The woman who died here.
